Half a century has passed since the day when a small group of people, taxi drivers like all of us, with visions and ideas, full of dreams and hopes for the union and progress of the industry, founded the first Taxi Cooperative.

The purpose was first of all to insure taxis in the event of accidents, while at the same time a mutual aid fund also operated with offices then at 32 Frakon Street in the Lombardo gallery.

In 1969, actions were initiated to purchase a property with a garage and parking lot to serve the needs that existed. Thus, after one year, the property is purchased at P. Syndika 18 with a Garage – Basement – Fuel Pumps – Paint Shop – Workshop – Vulcanizer and offices at the same time.

During the 34 years we have been operating in this area and after collaborations with major fuel and tire companies, leading suppliers with reliable spare parts for the members’ taxis and the provision of car cleaning and repair services and much more, the Cooperative stood worthy of its supporting its members and at the same time all the taxis of Thessaloniki.

In 2004 , the big leap was made to the new state-of-the-art facilities in the area of ​​Lygaria Pylaia with a complete spare parts store with a free material change workshop, with a modern vulcanizer but also with the most sophisticated cleaning services in a guarded, covered, privately owned area.

 

 

At the same time, the “ERMIS” Taxi union and the Mutual Taxi Cooperative are housed in the same area , making the sector’s rally even stronger.

Together we can and we certainly have a lot more to achieve.
